Look up any Minecraft Java Edition player by username and preview their skin on a rotatable 3D model; or upload your own .png skin from file. Swap biome backgrounds, change poses, inspect the 2D texture layout, take screenshots, and download the skin.
Can I upload my custom skin file?
Yes, just below the username field is an upload box. You can either drag and drop your .png skin file, or click to browse. Uploaded skins are displayed in the 3D viewer, along with the same biome backgrounds, poses, and screenshot tools as the username lookup.
Does this work with Bedrock Edition skins?
This viewer currently supports Minecraft Java Edition skins (username lookup via Mojang accounts, plus classic .png skin files). Bedrock Marketplace packs and geometry are different; Bedrock support is on our roadmap. If you have a standard 64×64 or 64×64 Steve/Alex PNG exported from Bedrock, you can still upload it and preview it here.
Where can I create a custom Minecraft skin?
The official editor can be found at minecraft.net in your profile. You can upload a custom skin there. Nova Skin and The Skindex are good browser-based options if you want something more flexible. Blockbench is also a great choice if you prefer working in 3D.
Where can I view community created skins?
The Skindex and Planet Minecraft both have a large collection of skins for community download. For Bedrock Edition, you can find skins at the Minecraft Marketplace, though those are paid skins. Skins in this viewer come from Java Edition Mojang accounts, so those are a completely different thing.
What is displayed in the 2D layout panel?
In addition to the 3D viewer, there is a front and back layout of the skin, as well as a large view of the skin's texture file. This is useful for checking small details.
Can I see how my skin looks in other biomes?
Yes, after you have either uploaded a skin or loaded a player, you can choose a biome with the picker below the viewer. Your skin can be viewed in multiple different environments, such as the desert, plains, the nether, cherry grove, and more.
Can I download a player's skin?
Yes. After you look someone up, use the download button in the toolbar to save their skin as a PNG. Useful if you want a copy for editing or reference.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes. You can drag to rotate the model and pinch to zoom on a phone or tablet. Fullscreen works on most browsers, though iOS Safari can be picky about it.
Is this an official Mojang tool?
No. We built this at Obsidian Worlds as a handy way to preview skins while running servers. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang AB, and we are not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft.
